What’s happening around Lethbridge this week, June 5, 2022
LETHBRIDGE, AB – There are a lot of events taking place across the city this week. From panels and fundraisers to board games, there’s something for everyone.
On Monday, June 6, Outreach Southern Alberta and the Lethbridge Public Library are hosting Queer 101. Happening at the Lethbridge Public Library Main Branch, this one hour workshop starts at 6:30 p.m. and will include topics such as the differences between sexual orientation, gender expression, and gender identity. Also during the event there will be a discussion on basic 2SLGBTQIA+ phrases and terminology that are inclusive and appropriate to use with contextual understanding. This workshop is free to attend, and takes place in the Community Meeting Room.
Itching to bust out a board game or play a round or two of Munchkin or Cards Against Humanity? Check out the Round Table Board Gamerie on Wednesday, June 8, for Board Game Club. From 6:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m., you can join other board game enthusiasts to play an old favourite, or learn to play something new. It costs $5.00 for those just wanting to drop-in, or for those who need unlimited gaming fun, the Summer Pass costs $50 until June 10.
For anyone who enjoys getting to know the author behind the story, Analog Books Inc. is hosting an author panel with Darcy Tamayose, Elizabeth McLachlan, and Randy Nikkel Schroeder. This free event is taking place from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 9, to celebrate the release of Tamayose’s short story collection. Aside from the author panel, there will also be light refreshments and a question and answer period.
