LETHBRIDGE, AB – The tempo of events happening in Lethbridge this week is a bit slowed down, but there is still plenty to do. Learn a new hobby, get out into nature, and support local business. There’s something for everyone.
Get crafty at the University of Lethbridge Art Gallery, and take part in Knitting a Noon in the Gallery. Happening from 12 p.m. until 1 p.m. on July 18, you’re invited to learn how to knit or crochet. This event is open to all skill levels. More experienced folks can work on their own projects, while beginners can try and make a granny square with help from gallery staff and volunteers. There will be knitting needles and yarn available for students.
On Tuesday, July 19, explore the beauty of Southern Alberta during the Social Walk in Fort Macleod Wilderness Park. Attendees can meet at 10 a.m. in the River Valley Wilderness Park parking lot for a two-hour hike through the park while learning about its significance. The park was established in 1991, and is over 100 acres in size. Everyone is welcome to attend the walk, however, children must be accompanied by at least one parent.
The Downtown Farmers Market is back this Wednesday, July 20 at Festival Square in Lethbridge. Starting at 9 a.m. and running until 1 p.m., the market will feature a number of local farms and vendors. Be aware that there is no ATM available, but there are many banking institutions close by. The Farmers Market takes place every Wednesday until, September 14, 2022.
