Southern Alberta man charged with manslaughter

FORT MACLEOD, AB – The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes unit has charged a Southern Alberta man with manslaughter.

On Saturday, July 16, 2022 at around 1:00 a.m., Fort Macleod RCMP responded to an assault in progress involving two men outside of a convenience store on 7 Avenue in Fort Macleod.

Police say that during the altercation, the adult male victim hit his head on the curb. He was taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The RCMP says 36-year-old Rodney Glen Small Legs Jr. has been charged with one count of manslaughter. He remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in Fort Macleod Provincial Court on Wednesday, July 27, 2022.
