LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge International Airshow is back this coming weekend, with events taking place Saturday, July 30 and Sunday, July 31, 2022.

The City of Lethbridge is advising residents of a few matters to keep in mind as the festivities are underway. Some notes from officials include:

  • Residents can expect to see aircraft and hear loud noises overhead throughout the city, and not just at the event site (the Lethbridge Airport).
  • Residents can expect traffic to increase leading up to and during the weekend across Lethbridge, specifically in the area of the airport. Motorists are reminded to drive cautiously, obey all posted signage and instructions, and be patient at the event location.
  • Citizens are asked to ensure all food items are disposed of properly to avoid attracting wildlife to the airport area. The City of Lethbridge said this includes items like sunflower seeds, “that are commonly discarded on the ground”.
  • Smoking is not allowed anywhere on the airfield, including inside personal vehicles.
  • Attendees are asked to stay within designated areas at all times and follow airport and airshow staff instructions as necessary.
  • Attendees are asked to be respectful of static displays around the area and are advised to wear sunscreen and drink plenty of water to account for the hot conditions.

Additionally, the City of Lethbridge noted that regularly scheduled flights will not be impacted by the Lethbridge International Airshow. However, travelers may want to give themselves extra time to arrive and prepare for departing flights at the Lethbridge Airport.
