Judge says Aheer did not breach rules

CALGARY, AB – United Conservative Party leadership candidate Leela Aheer says she’s relieved to finally be exonerated of exceeding Alberta political contribution limits in 2018.
A Queen’s Bench judge ruled this week that Aheer did not breach the rules and rescinded the 2019 finding of the Alberta elections commissioner.
The judge also found the investigation was unfair to Aheer because she wasn’t given a chance to provide evidence that would have cleared her of the alleged infractions.
Aheer said she knew she should be exonerated but she’s glad the matter has finally been resolved after three years.
