Police seeking suspects in reported South Lethbridge assault

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Police in Lethbridge are asking for help in identifying four suspects in connection with an assault with a weapon investigation.

A 24-year-old woman from Lethbridge reported to police that she had been assaulted in the 1100 block of Mayor Magrath Drive South just after 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 while walking home from work.

Police say a verbal altercation with an unknown man passing by escalated after he walked away and then returned with three other men. The victim reported that the four men began yelling at her before one of them punched her in the face, allegedly shot her in the back with a BB gun and threatened her before the group ran away westward across Mayor Magrath Drive.

The Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) responded to the scene and canvassed the area but could not locate any of the four suspects. The woman was brought to hospital for treatment of non life-threatening injuries.

Police say all four suspects were described as Caucasian men between the ages of 17 and 21. The first suspect had dark hair and was wearing a dark hat, hoodie and jeans.

A second suspect had blond, shoulder-length hair, was shirtless and was wearing jean shorts. The third suspect had dirty-blond hair and was wearing a light-coloured t-shirt and jean shorts with suspenders. Police say no clothing description was available for the fourth suspect.
