Pincher Creek RCMP respond to fatal Highway 3 collision

PINCHER CREEK, AB – A fatality has been confirmed by Pincher Creek RCMP following a two-vehicle collision in Southern Alberta.

On Thursday, August 18, 2022, at about 11:11 a.m., Pincher Creek detachment members responded to the collision on Highway 3, just east of Highway 785.

Police say the investigation found that a sedan was trying to pass another vehicle when it collided head-on with a westbound pick-up truck.

The driver of the sedan, a 62-year-old man who police say was a resident of Blairmore, was declared deceased at the scene. Officials say the driver of the pick-up truck suffered minor injuries.

The Pincher Creek RCMP said no further information will be provided.
