LETHBRIDGE, AB – Enjoying music with friends, having fun in the sun, or reaching new heights, there are plenty of events happening around Lethbridge this weekend.

From Friday, August 19 until Sunday, August 21, you can enjoy the Lethbridge Rotary Ribfest taking place at the ENMAX Centre. Ribfest features a number of different vendors preparing tons of barbeque essentials, such as ribs, brisket, chicken, and more. There will be live music to enjoy, as well as beer gardens, local vendors, and even 50/50 tickets. Ribfest begins at 11:00 a.m. each day and closes at 10:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and 7:00 p.m. on Sunday. This event is free to attend, and so is parking at the ENMAX Centre.

For anyone who enjoys live music, check out the Lethbridge Roots Music Festival! On Saturday, August 20, between 12:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. you can listen to 10 different artists on two separate stages, at Legacy Park in north Lethbridge. The festival is expected to have food trucks, vendors, and a beer garden. Inside the pavilion building, there will be children’s crafting events and music workshops. The Lethbridge Roots Music Festival is free to attend and is being hosted by the Lethbridge Folk Club and Lethbridge Jazz Society.

Want to test your sense of direction? Saturday is opening day for the Brooks Corn Maze. At 1:00 p.m. you’re invited to get lost in the Brooks Corn Maze that’s opening for the 2022 season. The corn maze will be open every Saturday and Sunday until the end of October, so don’t fret if you can’t make it to the opening day.

If you like to do your shopping when the heat dies down, you might enjoy The Last Night Market of 2022 taking place at Theoretically Brewing. On Saturday between 6:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. you can check out local vendors on the community patio for the last time this year. This family friendly event will feature live music performed by Kai Brooks, and a food truck will be on site to keep your hunger in check.

If you know anyone aged 12-15 who is interested in outdoor climbing, they can see what it’s all about during an Intro into Outdoor Climbing: Top-rope & Rappelling course on Sunday, August 21 in the Crowsnest Pass. This course will teach a number of key objectives, including how to put on a harness, how to use a tie-in knot with the harness, how to belay a climbing partner, and more. The course is being taught by instructors from Uplift Adventures, and anyone interested in enrolling in the course can do so on the Uplift Adventures website.
