Firefighters knock down industrial blaze in North Lethbridge Sunday night

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Lethbridge Fire and Emergency Services battled an industrial fire on the north side of the city Sunday night.
At around 8:00 p.m. Sunday, August 21, 2022, crews responded to a fire in the 2400 block of 2A Avenue North. Members from four stations attended and found flames and smoke venting from one of several stacks located on the industrial property.
Responders were on scene for several hours trying to fully extinguish the blaze while minimizing damage and loss. The City of Lethbridge reported that two plant workers were assed by Emergency Medical Services for minor injuries but were not transported to hospital.
Officials say one firefighter also sustained a minor injury but continued on with his shift.
