Lethbridge Police investigating gas station robberies

UPDATE: Lethbridge Police have charged a Coalhurst man in connection to the incidents at two Lethbridge gas stations. Police say the suspect turned himself in a few hours after video surveillance images were released to media outlets. Travis Ian Darr, 36, has been charged with robbery and theft under $5000. The Lethbridge Police Service would like to thank media and the public for their assistance in this investigation.

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) is asking for the public’s help in finding a suspect wanted in connection to a pair of robberies at gas stations.

LPS received a report of a robbery at Gas Plus on the 100 block of Jerry Potts Blvd West at approximately 2:15 p.m. on Tuesday, September 6, 2022.

A man allegedly stole a carton of cigarettes. When confronted by an employee, the suspect reportedly pushed the worker and fled the scene on foot, travelling southbound on Jerry Potts Blvd West.

The employee was not injured.

The police service believes the same man was responsible for stealing a carton of cigarettes from the Safeway Gas Bar on the 2700 block of Fairway Plaza Road South. LPS was called just before 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 13, 2022.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian man between the ages of 30 and 40, standing between 5’10” and 6’1″, and weighing 190-220 pounds.

The man is said to have red/blond hair in a mullet, facial hair, and was seen wearing glasses.
