Lethbridge Airport preparing for arrival of Flair Airlines

Sep 27, 2022 | 9:57 AM

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Construction is underway at the Lethbridge Airport.

Passengers flying in and out of the airport over the coming months can expect to see work ongoing to establish an expanded processing area for the Canada Border Services Agency as well as a new baggage drop-off and screening area.

On the airfield, construction continues on multiple pavement projects including runway and taxiway rehabilitation. This is expected to be completed by the end of 2022.

These initiatives are being taken in preparation for the arrival of Flair Airlines, an “ultra-low-cost carrier,” on December 1, 2022.

As part of a 16-week pilot project, Flair Airlines will offer direct flights between Lethbridge and Tuscon, Arizona once per week on Thursdays.

When the flights begin, one-way, direct trips are expected to cost approximately $125.

Construction is not anticipated to cause interruptions to air service. Passengers are asked to be mindful of construction zones and obey all signage.
