Lethbridge police say youth assault allegations unfounded
LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) says allegations made by a teenage girl that she had been assaulted earlier this month were unfounded.
LPS received a report on October 6, 2022, that two 13-year-old girls were walking through the Safeway parking lot in west Lethbridge during their lunch break when they were approached by a man, who had been described as a 15 to 18-year-old Caucasian male.
The girls claimed that the suspect produced a pair of scissors, grabbed one of the girls by the head, and cut off a large section of their hair.
LPS says they were told that the male tried to grab the second girl and attempted to cut her hair, but that she was able to get away.
