Four charged in connection to theft of trailer, construction tools in Lethbridge

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) has laid charges against four people accused of possessing stolen property.

At approximately 9:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 16, 2022, LPS received a report of a suspicious vehicle on Sixmile Crescent South.

The occupants of a truck were allegedly seen loading items into a cargo trailer behind a house that was under construction. The trailer had been reported stolen earlier that day.

The truck left the scene without the trailer and was later spotted by police on South Parkside Drive near Mayor Magrath Drive South.

According to the attending officers, one of the occupants was in possession of bolt cutters and a small amount of methamphetamine. Property that was believed to have been stolen from the construction site was also reportedly found in the truck.

A second vehicle was located by police in the 1100 block of 40 Avenue North later that day, towing the cargo trailer. LPS says the trailer contained approximately $3,500 worth of stolen construction tools, which have since been returned to the owner.

Adam Robert Muhly, 37, of Lethbridge, is charged with possession of stolen property under $5,000. He was released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for December 14, 2022

Jeremy Mackenzie Toth, 36, of Lethbridge, is charged with possession of break-in instruments, possession of stolen property under $5,000, and possession of a controlled substance. He was released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for January 19, 2023.

Clayton Roger Doyle, 30, of Claresholm, is charged with theft under $5,000 and possession of stolen property under $5,000. He was released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for January 25, 2023.

Aedan Tanya Betts, 21, of Lethbridge, is charged with possession of stolen property under $5,000. She was released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for January 25, 2023.
