RAYMOND, AB – Lethbridge College has been named the host school for the 2022 Alberta Colleges Athletics Conference (ACAC) Soccer Championships.

The collegiate soccer tournament will be held at Comet Stadium in Raymond from October 27-30, 2022.

Lethbridge College Athletics and Recreation Services Manager Todd Caughlin says it is exciting to see this level of soccer in the area.

“Being the first time the college has ever hosted this event just adds to the excitement and anticipation of next weekend. We are proud to be able to partner with the Town of Raymond and look to deliver an incredible event on both the men’s and women’s sides of competition,” says Caughlin.

Team practices get underway on Thursday, October 27. The day will conclude with the 2022 ACAC Soccer Awards Ceremony and Banquet at the College’s Val Matteotti Gymnasium.

Game action commences on Friday with both the men’s and women’s Kodiaks teams hitting the field.

Kodiaks Head Coach Sean Carey says the finals take place on Sunday, October 30.

“There’s going to be a lot of good soccer out in Raymond next weekend,” says Carey. “On any given day, with the level of parity across the conference, anyone can beat anyone, and we’re excited about that.”

Tickets to attend the tournament can be purchased on the Lethbridge College Kodiaks website. Those who are unable to attend can buy a streaming pass on the ACAC website.
