Brooks man found deceased in Lake Newell

BROOKS, AB – RCMP in southern Alberta is reporting a tragic end to their search for a missing person.

On Wednesday, October 19, 2022, a worker was conducting maintenance on a dam in Lake Newell and went underwater. He did not resurface.

Brooks RCMP says the remains of the 55-year-old from Brooks were recovered the following day.

Occupational Health and Safety has been advised and is conducting an investigation.
