Charges laid following assault in Lethbridge

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) has put a local woman behind bars in connection to an alleged assault.

At approximately 3:45 a.m. on Saturday, October 22, 2022, LPS was called to a home on the 600 block of 13 Street North.

A woman told police that she was woken up when her bedroom lights were turned on.

According to the homeowner, the suspect entered the house through a window. After the homeowner screamed, the suspect allegedly exited the bedroom, returned with a kitchen pot, and assaulted her.

Both people were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police apprehended the suspect, who was found hiding in another room.

Kelsey Megan Across The Mountain, 33, of Lethbridge, is charged with housebreaking with intent, assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, and robbery.

She remains in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, October 25, 2022.
