Pets killed in Lethbridge residential fire

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Lethbridge Fire & EMS has responded to a third residential fire this weekend.

At approximately 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 19, 2022, a total of 16 firefighters from three stations were called to a home on the 1900 block of 4 Avenue North.

Crews were able to get the fire under control in less than one hour.

Lethbridge Fire & EMS says one cat and one dog died in the fire while another cat was able to be rescued.

There were no injuries to the human residents or the firefighters.

The investigation is ongoing and a damage value has not been fully assessed at this time.

A complete scene analysis is scheduled for Monday.
