Fort Macleod RCMP charge two people following property crime investigations

FORT MACLEOD, AB – Two people have been charged in relation to property crime investigations by the Fort Macleod RCMP.

On Monday, November 21, 2022, at 9:21 p.m., the Fort Macleod RCMP received a report of a break and enter in progress at a local business. Police say they were able to locate a vehicle that was fleeing the scene and a traffic stop was initiated. The RCMP reported that the vehicle fled from police.

A short time later, the same vehicle was found, and police say several occupants fled the scene on foot. Two suspects were later apprehended and taken into custody.

The Fort Macleod RCMP was assisted by the Nanton RCMP, Coaldale Traffic Services, and the South District Police Dog Services in the response.

Police say the investigation found that the 2002 Dodge Ram 2500 used in the incident was reported stolen from Medicine Hat. The RCMP reported that the suspects were involved in several other property crimes in Southern Alberta and were in possession of stolen property.

David Archibald Hearn, a 50-year-old resident of Fort Macleod, has been charged with:

One count of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
One count of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
One count of break and enter to a business with intent
One count of flight from police

Kristy Leanne Miller, a 31-year-old resident of Redcliff, has been charged with:

One count of possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
One count of possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
One count of break and enter to a business with intent
One count of flight from police

The investigation continues as police believe one or more other suspects were involved.
