LETHBRIDGE, AB – Commuters are being advised of some construction work starting next week.

According to a notice from 511 Alberta, the westbound Highway 3 between Mayor Magrath Drive and 13 Street North will see a CP Rail expansion and construction of a retaining wall adjacent to the highway.

The work will start up on March 19 and is expected to be completed by August 30. Workers will be on site daily from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., seven days a week.

Both westbound lanes will remain open but with reduced lane widths as well as a lane shift towards the median. The westbound Highway 3 off-ramp at 13 Street North will also be closed.

The speed limit is going to be reduced to 50 km/h. Loads up to 6.8 metres wide will continue to be accommodated through the construction zone.
