Carter Felker Band at The Owl – January 6

Calgary’s up-and-coming singer-songwriter will be heading down to Lethbridge on Friday, January 6. The Carter Felker Band will be playing tunes at The Owl and Acoustic Lounge for their first show of 2023. The show kicks off at 9:00 p.m. and tickets are available at the door.

Rope Bunny and Alec Arms at The Slice – January 6

In the mood to rock out to some live music? Check out The Slice on Friday as some regional artists will take the stage. These pop-punk bands will be bringing an electric vibe to downtown Lethbridge getting patrons to rock out and dance along all night long. The show starts at 9:00 p.m. and tickets are available at the door.

IN THE GALLERY WITH DAGMAR DAHLE: SAAG – January 7

Head on down to the Southern Alberta Art Gallery (SAAG) this weekend for a look at exhibiting artist, Dagmar Dahle, as they work on an art piece that’s set to be unveiled on February 4. The large-scale painting has been taking shape over the course of her exhibition, Tangle, and will be on display until February 11. Stop by on Saturday, January 7 to chat with the artist from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. to watch her work up close.

Pure Power Wrestling New Years Beatings- January 7

Pop into Fritz Sick Centre this weekend for the first Pure Power Wrestling match of 2023. Starting at 6:30 p.m. watch as several regional wrestlers hop in the ring to bring some action to South Lethbridge. Tickets are available online or at the door.

Festival Square Ice Rink – Open every day from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Looking to hit the ice this January? Festival Square’s free outdoor ice rink is still open every day in the new year. Community members are encouraged to come out, strap on their skates and follow the rules of the rink. Helmets and protective gear are strongly recommended.

Winter Light Festival at Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden – Multiple dates in January

From now until February 26, 2023, guests can see light and ice sculpture displays while learning about Japanese culture and traditions at the Winter Light Festival at Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden in Lethbridge. Tickets are available Thursday through Sunday, with additional passes available for the Kamakura [Igloo] Dome Experience or the Basha Nori [Horse and Wagon Rides].
