LETHBRIDGE, AB – It’s a night to not only cheer on the Lethbridge Hurricanes, but an opportunity to get to know the people behind the badge working with the Lethbridge Police Service (LPS).

On Saturday, January 14, 2023, the Lethbridge Hurricanes will be hosting LPS Night while welcoming the Red Deer Rebels to the ENMAX Centre.

Fully uniformed LPS members will be out and about during the game to meet with members of the public and provide insight into some of the different departments.

Fans will also be treated to a dog demo with members from the LPS K9 unit during intermission and a photo booth where people can try out police gear.

LPS Chief Shahin Mehdizadeh said, “We’re thrilled to partner with the Lethbridge Hurricanes for this great community event.”

He went on, “We’re looking forward to getting out and meeting with our citizens, cheering for the Hurricanes and providing a glimpse of what policing is like for anyone considering a career in law enforcement.”

Not only will the Lethbridge Hurricanes be decked out in rare LPS-themed jerseys during the game, but the unique items will be auctioned off following the game.

Proceeds raised from the auction will be split between the Lethbridge Food Bank, Interfaith Food Bank and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lethbridge.

Hurricanes General Manager of Business Operations, Terry Huisman said in a release, “We’re really excited to partner with the Lethbridge Police Service for this special game night.”

“We think this will be a really fun night and to be able to help with the education of what the LPS does and what they provide for our community will be a really important part of the night,” added Huisman.

Puck drop is at 7:00 p.m. and tickets can still be purchased online at the ENMAX Centre website.
