Firefighters battle two blazes within hours of each other in north Lethbridge

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Crews from Lethbridge responded to two separate fires within the span of a few hours Thursday night and early Friday morning.

Both incidents were along 13 Street North.

At around 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 12, 2023, 27 firefighters from five stations responded to a structure blaze in the 200 block of 13 Street North. Crews discovered a small fire inside a storage unit located within the building. The fire was brought under control quickly.

Hours later, at approximately 3:30 a.m. on Friday, January 13, responders from four stations attended the scene of a structure fire in the rear of a business in the 600 block of 13 Street North. Crews found a fire in an electrical distribution shed which supplies the business with power. The City of Lethbridge said that normal operations for the business may be affected Friday.
