Lethbridge Police seeking to return cash to rightful owner

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) says it is in possession of a “large sum of cash” and are hoping to return it to its owner.

On November 11, 2022, a man told police that he found a bank envelope containing a large quantity of cash in the snow at the northeast corner of 3 Avenue South and 5 Street South.

There was no receipt or any other information inside the envelope.

The man brought it to LPS. The police service says attempts to identify the owner have, so far, been unsuccessful.

The police service says in a media release, “In order to claim the money, proof of ownership is required. The rightful owner will need to confirm the exact amount of cash and identify what financial institution the envelope came from.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact the LPS Property and Exhibits Unit at 403-330-5009.
