GRANT TYLER WILLIAMS/GOODSTRIKER
GRANT “TYLER” WILLIAMS/GOODSTRIKER passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at the age of 38 years.
Tyler was the father of a beautiful daughter; Gabrielle Prairie Chicken/English. He was also a son, brother, uncle and cousin and had a large extended family on the Blood Indian Reserve.
Tyler is survived by his brothers: George Jr, Duane, Bobby and Shane, his nephews and nieces: Katana, Enver, Cloud, Tristen, Vienna, Clay, Elizabeth, Karis, Cassius, July, Skyler, Alex, Kevin, Mackenzie, Roberto, Ana, Jade, Adam, Eartha, Faith, Josh, Michael and numerous relatives, friends and acquaintances worldwide. He is also survived by his adopted brothers and sisters: Lynn, Corky and River Jonasson, Rob Penner, John John Stiff Arm and Pete Sidley; and Living In Process Family: Frank Russell, Vicki Good Striker among others that are too numerous to mention.
Tyler was predeceased by his mother Peggy on October 16, 2007, father George on February 6, 2009, brother Troy on February 14, 2014 and sister Liz; relatives: Frank, James, Jason and Rufus; aunts: Rubianne, Eileen, Queenie, Marion, Marjorie and Dorothy; parents-in-law Victor and Alice Williams; spiritual brother Joe Roan; brothers-in-law, Walter Singer, Steven Fox, Gerald Tail Feathers; sisters-in-law: Theresa Chief Body, Sharon Williams and Aurbina Williams; aunties: Louise Crop Earred Wolf, Katherine Eagle Speaker, Kate Healy and Beatrice Good Striker; and uncles Fred Weasel Fat and Dan Weasel Fat.
Tyler enjoyed traditional dancing, playing hockey, helping his father George collect and harvest traditional medicines, needed to help others who were ill. He also participated in weekly sweat ceremonies with his family and relatives, He sang the songs of his fathers’ ceremonies and owned his own pipe at a very young age. Tyler travelled internationally on several occasions swam in the Hawaiian oceans and enjoyed many trips to the United States.
A Wake will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2825 – 32 Street South, Lethbridge, AB, on Sunday, January 22, 2023 from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M.
A Funeral Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME on Monday, January 23, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Ken Kissick officiating.
Following the Funeral Service, Tyler will be laid to rest in St. Catherine’s Cemetery.
