FRIENDS Trivia at The Canadian Brewhouse – January 31, 2023

Fans of the TV show ‘Friends’ have the chance to take part in a night of trivia hosted by Tremendous Trivia at The Canadian Brewhouse. Starting at 7:00 p.m., groups of three-to-five people can test their ‘Friends’ knowledge during six rounds of questions. Guests can also dress up as their favourite characters for a chance to win the costume contest. Tickets for the trivia night can be found online at Eventbrite.

Lethbridge Hurricanes play at the ENMAX Centre – February 1 and 3

The Lethbridge Hurricanes will play on home ice this week on Wednesday and Friday. On February 1, 2023, at 7:00 p.m. the ‘Canes will play against the Moose Jaw Warriors. On February 3, 2023, at 7:00 p.m., the Lethbridge Hurricanes will go head-to-head with the Regina Pats. Tickets for both games can be found online at the ENMAX Centre website.

Ladies Night at Good Times Lethbridge Comedy Club – February 2

Good Times Lethbridge Comedy Club will host another edition of ‘Ladies Night of Laughter’ this week. On Thursday, February 2, 2023, Amber Harper-Young will take the stage to showcase her colourful yet self-deprecating style of comedy during this adult-oriented show. Door prizes and drink specials will start at 6:00 p.m., and tickets for the show are available online at the Good Times Lethbridge Comedy Club website.

Snowed in Comedy Tour – February 3

The ‘Snowed in Comedy Tour’ has returned for a 14th year, and will be in Lethbridge this Friday, February 3, 2023. Having played in 70 different cities in 2022, Paul Myrehaug, Dan Quinn, Erica Sigurdson and Pete Zedlacher will take the stage to deliver some laughs at 7:30 p.m. at the Yates Memorial Centre. There are only a few tickets left online at the ENMAX Centre website.

Rainbow Patrol and Alec Arm at The Owl Acoustic Lounge – February 3

On Friday, two local YQL bands will take the stage for a night of live music at The Owl Acoustic Lounge. Event organizers describe it as “A night of weirdo, psychedelic, mathy and downright silly guitar shenanigans.” Rainbow Patrol will bring their desert rock riffs, while Alec Arms will play some up-and-coming emo-style anthems. The show kicks off at 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 3, and entry is by donation.

Hot Beverage Week – January 27 to February 5

The Downtown Lethbridge Business Revitalization Zone (BRZ) is hosting Hot Beverage Week from January 27 until February 5, 2023. It gives people an opportunity to support local businesses in the downtown core and try some tasty warm beverages. Community members are encouraged to check out the featured list of participating businesses online, and vote for their favourites for a chance to win a variety of prizes. Alberta Genealogical Society – Every Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday

The Lethbridge branch of the Alberta Genealogical Society opens its resource centre to the public from 1:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. every Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Community members are encouraged to come and learn more about their history and try to trace their family trees. Festival Square Ice Rink – Open every day from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Looking to hit the ice? Festival Square’s free outdoor ice rink is still open every day. Community members are encouraged to come out, strap on their skates and follow the rules of the rink. Helmets and protective gear are strongly recommended.

Winter Light Festival at Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden – Multiple dates in January and February

From now until February 26, 2023, guests can see light and ice sculpture displays while learning about Japanese culture and traditions at the Winter Light Festival at Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden. Tickets are available Thursday through Sunday, with additional passes available for the Kamakura [Igloo] Dome Experience or the Basha Nori [Horse and Wagon Rides].
