City of Lethbridge warns residents of text scam

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Officials from the City of Lethbridge are warning residents about scammers who are posing as representatives from the City of Lethbridge.

In a social media post on February 6, 2023, The City of Lethbridge indicated that it has been made aware of residents receiving text messages from a sender claiming to be a city official.

The texts have been regarding outstanding tickets and license suspension threats.

The City of Lethbridge wants to make the public aware that these messages are illegitimate, and city officials would not reach out to residents via text.

People who have received these messages are encouraged to delete them and not respond.
