Sport Central announces new Executive Director

EDMONTON. AB – The Board of Directors of Sport Central announced Janna Tominuk as its new Executive Director. Tominuk will succeed Sheldon Oleksyn, the current Executive Director at Sport Central.
Sport Central is a charitable organization that helps young athletes in Alberta access sports equipment at no cost for kids who may not be able to afford it. It has provided safe gear to more than 180,000 children from low-income families.
Janna’s career has been mainly sports related. A large portion of her career was spent in sport event management. She was a Managing Director for the 2010 Grey Cup held in Edmonton, and she managed events for Curling Canada for over 10 years. Lately, Janna has been serving as the Executive Director of Edmonton Tourism.
Janna says she is grateful and excited about her new role following a long recruitment process, “I am genuinely grateful for how sport has impacted my life. To be in a role where I have the privilege of spending my days providing opportunities for kids to participate in sports, truly gives me goosebumps. I am beyond ecstatic to join an organization with such purpose.”
