Lethbridge Hurricanes play at the ENMAX Centre – February 15 – February 17, 2023

The Lethbridge Hurricanes will play on home ice twice this week. On Wednesday, February 15, 2023, the Hurricanes will go head-to-head with the Calgary Hitmen starting at 7:00 p.m. at the ENMAX Centre. On Friday, February 17, they will face off in a match against the Brandon Wheat Kings. Tickets for the games can be found on the ENMAX Centre website.

Omahksiki’somm Winter Workshop at the Helen Schuler Nature Centre – February 16

The Kainai Ecosystem Protection Association will present the Omahksiki’somm Winter Workshop on Thursday, February 16, 2023, at the Helen Schuler Nature Centre. This one-day workshop is aimed at teaching people about ecological consciousness and environmental stewardship and will include several guest speakers. The workshop runs from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Those interested in registering can call the Helen Schuler Nature Centre at 403-320-3064.

Wise Owls Pub Trivia – February 16

Test your trivia skills at the Wise Owls Pub Quiz, presented by the Lethbridge Public Library. The event takes place at the Owl Acoustic Lounge, starting at 7:30 p.m. on February 16. Participants can test their smarts and redeem their points for prizes. The quiz start at 8:00 p.m. and groups of six are welcome to test their skills. Weekly winners will take home a bag of library swag and the season champions get a trophy and their name on the Wise Owls plaque of honour.

The Little Prince presented by the University of Lethbridge – February 10, 11, 16, 17, 18

This February, the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Lethbridge will perform The Little Prince, based off of the children’s novella. For five nights, this play, filled with puppets, masks, and live music will bring families into the magical world of The Little Prince. The show takes place at the University Theatre. Tickets are available online through the University of Lethbridge website.

Alberta Genealogical Society – Every Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday

The Lethbridge branch of the Alberta Genealogical Society is opening its resource centre to the public from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. every Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Community members are encouraged to learn more about their history and try to trace their family trees. Check it out at 128 909 3 Ave. North in Lethbridge on the posted dates, and learn more on the Lethbridge & District Branch Alberta Genealogical Society website.

Festival Square Ice Rink – Open every day from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Looking to hit the ice? The Festival Square free outdoor ice rink is still open every day, weather permitting. Community members are encouraged to strap on their skates and follow the rules of the rink. Helmets and protective gear are strongly recommended.

Winter Light Festival at Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden – Multiple dates in February

From now until February 26, 2023, guests can see light and ice sculpture displays while learning about Japanese culture and traditions at the Winter Light Festival at Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden. Tickets are available Friday through Sunday, with additional passes available for the Kamakura [Igloo] Dome Experience or the Basha Nori [Horse and Wagon Rides].
