Lethbridge man charged with manslaughter

LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) has apprehended a man in connection to the death of a long-term care resident.

On Friday, January 6, 2023, LPS was informed of the death of a 78-year-old man at a residential care facility on the 1400 block of 9 Avenue South.

The man’s body had previously been taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Calgary for an autopsy, where investigators determined that man’s death was considered suspicious.

According to the investigation by LPS, the victim had been assaulted at the facility on December 26, 2022, and died of his injuries on January 3, 2023.
