LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge and District Exhibition Board of Directors has elected Ryan Miller as its 56th President.

The decision was made on February 2, 2023 at the Lethbridge and District Exhibition’s Annual General Meeting.

Miller said, “It is with great pride and a sense of responsibility, to be elected as President of the Lethbridge and District Exhibition Board of Directors during this exciting milestone year for the organization.”

Russ Zemp became First Vice President and Heath Wright was elected as Second Vice President of the Board of Directors.

Five new directors were also named to the board for the following terms:
Three-Year Terms: Don Strankman and Derek Johnson
Two-Year Terms: Dan Brewin and Kelly Shigehiro
One-Year Term: Melissa Arseniuk

The board of directors now includes a total of 12 voting members, with the following four members continuing their terms:

Past President: Bev Lanz
Director: Mark Sayers
Director: Bruce Galts
Lethbridge County Representative: Tory Campbell

Volunteer board member Rick Neudorf, who had served on the board since 2011, will no longer be a member, and was thanked for his 12 years of service to the organization.

Lethbridge and District Exhibition is a not-for-profit organization with big plans. The 268,000 square foot Agri-food Hub and Trade Centre currently under construction at the exhibition grounds is the largest development project in its history. Miller said it will serve as an economic driver of growth for Alberta’s food sector.

“The opening of the new Agri-food Hub & Trade Centre will provide a place for community celebration, and bring a regional, national and international spotlight to our world-class agricultural and agri-food producers and industries,” said Miller.

Chief Executive Officer of Lethbridge and District Exhibition Mike Warkentin added, “Lethbridge and District Exhibition is poised to take a historic step forward in 2023, further cementing its place as a leader within, not only Lethbridge or Southern Alberta, but the entire agriculture landscape. We couldn’t ask for a better group of leaders to help us redefine and position the organization for the next 100-years.”
