Alberta, Saskatchewan ban TikTok on government-issued devices
EDMONTON, AB – The Governments if Alberta and Saskatchewan are following Ottawa’s lead and banning TikTok from all government-issued devices.
In Alberta, the ministry of technology and innovation says a risk assessment was conducted.
Based on the findings of the assessment, the ministry says the decision was made to ban the social media app to ensure the integrity of all government IT devices, including desktops, laptops and mobile devices.
Earlier this week, the Government of Canada banned TikTok on all government-issued phones. Since then other provinces and cities have followed suit.
