LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Professional Bull Riders (PBR) Canada Cup Series is set to take place March 3 and 4, 2023 in Lethbridge. This will be the second Elite Cup Series of the season.

The nationally-televised series will feature some of Canada’s best bull riders, along with some of the top international athletes with PBR, as they square off against bucking bulls from across the nation.

One of the riders at the upcoming Lethbridge event is 23-year old Canadian Chad Hartman. Hartman started steer riding when he was nine years old and then began bull riding at 13.

He said one of the toughest challenges of bull riding is getting injured.

Hartman said, “Injuries would probably be the biggest challenge because you can’t control when they happen and how bad they are, you just deal with it.”

Hartman has some advice for up-and-coming bull riders: “Go to a steer riding school and learn from somebody who has done it before. Don’t just try to go and do it. Go to someone who can teach you the right way to do it, because it’s just a dangerous sport.”

Hartman currently ranks 185th in the world. This is his third year as a professional bull rider.

The PBR Canada Cup Series takes place March 3 and 4, 2023 at 7:00 p.m. at the ENMAX Centre in Lethbridge for its fifth consecutive season.
