Brooks RCMP seeking driver who allegedly approached teen girl

BROOKS, AB – The RCMP in Brooks is searching for a suspect following an encounter with a underaged girl on Wednesday, March 1, 2023.

At about 12:55 p.m., officers say a 16-year-old girl was walking home from school when the driver of a pickup truck stopped next to her. The driver allegedly offered her a ride several times, which the girl declined before walking away.

According to the RCMP, the driver did not follow the girl or get out of the truck.

RCMP officers say they would like to speak with the driver.

The truck is described as:

  • Dark red four-door Ford truck with no model or marker
  • Being loud enough that the driver had to turn it off so he could speak
  • Tires on the truck are aftermarket, and according to the RCMP, were “bigger than they would have been if bought new”

The driver is described as:

  • Light complexion
  • Approximately 40-50 years of age
  • Deep voice
  • Messy, shoulder-length brown/greyish curly hair and a scruffy beard
  • Wearing a black T-shirt
