With heavy hearts and great sadness, we announce the passing of (Ma tso wa’paakii – Beautiful Woman) Megan Kristen Twigg at the age of 35 years, on March 17, 2023 at the Chinook Regional Hospital, Lethbridge, AB. Megan was surrounded by her loving family.
Megan was born on December 7, 1987 to her parents, Lester and Beverley Twigg at the Lethbridge Regional Hospital. Megan was born and raised in Lethbridge. She later moved to Calgary in 1999 for a few of years, then recently, moved back in 2019 to the Blood Reserve into their family home. Megan attended the Children of St. Martha’s Elementary School and then grade eight at Father Leonard Van Tighem School in Lethbridge, where she made the Honour Roll. It was in Calgary where she met the father of her children, Shanie (Mashall), the twins – Kloe and Karter and her late son Seth, who was still born.
Megan was a kind, caring, loving soul with a beautiful heart of gold. As she was growing up, Megan was the only girl in the family until Nicole was born. In those younger years, Megan had her way of getting her male cousins Luke and Nolan, later her brother Jeff, to do and play what she chose. Megan would often join the boys bike riding in West Lethbridge. One place they enjoyed riding their bikes, was the “Dirt Hills” on the then outskirts of West Lethbridge.
Megan enjoyed playing basketball, baking, making crafts and decorating for every holiday. Megan loved doing hair in many stylish ways, especially for her girls, Shanie and Kloe. Another skill she had was putting on makeup. She had a routine when getting ready to go somewhere, always spending plenty of time to apply her makeup perfectly and fix her hair just perfect.
Megan enjoyed spending time with her children, often taking them to the waterpark, swimming and movies. She was an auntie to all her friends’ children. She loved the family gatherings and spending time with her cousins and friends, whom she had a special relationship with. She had a very special friendship with Bambi, Tara and Wacey Provost. Megan loved her dog Tuffy, she took him everywhere and always made sure Tuffy was groomed.
