LETHBRIDGE, AB – It’s finally the weekend in Lethbridge and there are quite a few events planned over the next few days.

Lethbridge Hurricanes at the ENMAX Centre – March 24, 2023

The Lethbridge Hurricanes play on home ice for their final night of the regular season. On Friday, March 24, at 7:00 p.m. the Lethbridge Hurricanes will face off against the Red Deer Rebels at the ENMAX Centre. Tickets are available at the ENMAX Centre website.

Park Jam at Pass Powderkeg Ski Area – March 24

With spring around the corner, it means the return of the annual Park Jam at Pass Powderkeg (PPK) Ski Area in Blairmore on March 24. The PPK Park Jam welcomes snowboarders and skiers alike to participate in a jam session from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Flats Terrain Park. Each session has three categories including U13, Ages 14-17 and 18+, with individual prizes available in each category. Jam along to a night of live music on Friday night at the Owl Acoustic Lounge. Lethbridge’s Fawns Music is set to headline on March 24, along with Saskatoon heavy indie band, Green Wing, and Lethbridge’s own Alec Arms. The 18+ show kicks off at 8:00 p.m. and admission is pay what you can.

U of L Jazz Ensemble presents A Tribute to Video Games – March 24

The University of Lethbridge (U of L) Jazz Ensemble will put their ‘gamer’ hats on for an evening of music paying tribute to video games. Starting at 7:30 p.m. inside the University Theatre, guests can groove along to the tunes of classic games like Super Mario 64, The Legend of Zelda, Game of Thrones, Pokemon, Cuphead, and more. Tickets are available online at the University Box Office or online at the University of Lethbridge website.

Female U13 B Provincial Hockey Championship – March 24-26

Lethbridge hosts the Hockey Alberta Female U13B Provincial Championship this week. The Lethbridge Cyclones Under-13 team is welcoming five different teams from five different leagues to compete at Nicholas Sheran Ice Centre for the tournament, which is on from Thursday, March 23 to Sunday, March 26. Each team will play three round-robin games, with one each day on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The semi-finals are scheduled to take place on Sunday. Tickets can be purchased at the door.

Youth One: Black Tie Gala – March 25

After a four-year hiatus, the Youth One Black Tie Gala will return to the Sandman Hotel on Saturday, March 25. Youth One helps to provide youth with safe and affordable after-school programs, and the gala helps to raise money for those services. While the event is sold out, guests can still tune in to the live stream being broadcast online. For more information, go to the YouthOne website.

Soundscape Walking Tour at the Galt Museum & Archives – March 25

Take part in a guided exploration that highlights both internal and external soundscapes in Lethbridge as part of the Politics of Sound exhibition. On Saturday, March 25, participants will activate new listening practices using two of the exhibition’s interactive artworks, Jessica Thompson’s Walking Machine and Adam Basanta’s Plugs. The interactive artworks used in this tour can be borrowed at no cost for a self-guided experience during museum open hours.
