HUMBOLDT, SK – The goaltender for the Humboldt Broncos junior A hockey team has been charged after a truck crashed into a residence.

The RCMP arrested 20-year-old Jared Picklyk early in the morning on Saturday, March 25, 2023 after finding a truck allegedly belonging to him on a property on 12th Avenue in Humboldt, Saskatchewan.

No one was injured in the collision and the RCMP did not have any information on the extent of damage to the home and property. Police said Picklyk was charged with refusal to comply with a breath screening.

Picklyk is scheduled to make an appearance in a Humboldt courtroom on May 8, 2023.

Meanwhile, the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) and Broncos organization have both confirmed that Picklyk has been suspended indefinitely.

At this time, the only comment the two parties have is that they are fully cooperating with authorities looking into the situation.
