2023 Municipal Census underway in Lethbridge

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Census workers are out and about in Lethbridge gathering information for the 2023 Municipal Census.

The City of Lethbridge gave out white cards containing PIN codes on doors from April 1-4, 2023. On April 5 and running until April 23, census takers are going door-to-door for anyone who has not completed the census online.

Census takers wearing photo identification will ask residents three questions: How many people live at their address, their age, and sex. All information provided with the questions is confidential.

The census aims to provide an accurate population count for the city, as well as give insight on the immediate and future needs of Lethbridge.

Anyone who is away from the city during census taking is asked to call 403-320-3030 with their information.

The 2019 Municipal Census revealed a population of 101,482. Meanwhile, the 2021 Federal Census showed Lethbridge’s population was 98,406.

Results from the census will be released in mid-June.
