Canadian College World Series Tournament – May 19-22, 2023

The Canadian College World Series opened in Lethbridge on Thursday, May 18, 2023. Eight teams will play at Spitz Stadium for a championship title over the May long weekend. Lethbridge’s Prairie Baseball Academy led the Canadian College Baseball Conference this season with 21 wins and 11 losses. Tickets for the games can be purchased at Spitz Stadium, and the full schedule can be found online.

Spring/Summer Fashion Show: Lethbridge Fashion Weekend– May 19

Lethbridge Fashion Weekend is back with another show as it hosts the Spring/Summer runway at the Galt Museum & Archives on May 19, 2023. A number of local designers and talents will be taking the stage on Friday to showcase the latest trends and styles for the upcoming season. Tickets for the show are available in-person at Classique Dancewear.

Home & Garden Show at the Lethbridge Public Library – May 20

The Lethbridge Public Library Main Branch hosts its first ever Home & Garden Show this weekend. From 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., several speakers will provide guests with tips and tricks to caring for their garden and home. There will also be a vendor fair and food truck.

Guided Journeys – Walk to Remember 2023 – May 20

This weekend, the Guided Journeys Foundation presents its second annual Walk to Remember. The walk around Henderson Lake Park helps raise funds for end-of-life care and grief support in Lethbridge, as well as surrounding areas. By supporting hospice and palliative care, it doubles as a tribute to those who may have lost a loved one. All ages and abilities are welcome to join the walk from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. More information on how to sign up and donate can be found on the Guided Journeys Foundation website.

Alberta Birds of Prey Centre Opening Weekend – May 20

The Alberta Birds of Prey Foundation will re-open its doors for the 2023 season this weekend. The Alberta Birds of Prey Foundation is Alberta’s first privately licensed raptor rescue and conservation organization, and is home to several owls, eagles, ducks, hawks and other birds. Families are welcome to get up close and personal with the animals from May Long weekend until Labour Day. More information can be found at the Alberta Birds of Prey Foundation website.

Hawk + Harvest Spring Market – May 20

On Saturday, guests are encouraged to head to the Galt Museum & Archives to take part in the Hawk + Harvest Spring Market. The event runs from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Saturday and will feature an exciting lineup of local creators, brands, music and alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Admission is $4 at the door.

LEMF and Theatre Outré present the return of A. Skillz – May 20

The Lethbridge Electronic Music Festival (LEMF) and Theatre Outré welcome UK artist A. Skillz to the Onion Bar & Grill on Saturday. A. Skillz has appeared on big and small stages across the world and is bringing his blend of hip hop, soul, funk, dubstep and drum and bass to Lethbridge. Joining him on stage are local artists Rabbyt, Marty Funkhauser and Phunky Le Freq. The show starts at 9:00 p.m. and tickets are available at the door for $20, with a portion of the proceeds going towards Theatre Outré.

Yoga and Tai Chi at Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden – Every Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday

The Canadian Yoga Institue has begun its Tai Chi and Yoga classes at Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden in Lethbridge this month. Flow Yoga will take place every Wednesday starting at 6:00 p.m., while Yoga for Wellness will start at 5:30 p.m. every Thursday. Starting at 9:00 a.m. every Saturday, people can take part in short-form Yang Style Tai Chi. Drop-in passes can be purchased on the day of the event, or you can register through the Canadian Yoga Institue. More information can be found online.
