LETHBRIDGE, AB – Several park and playground projects are getting underway in Lethbridge.

The City of Lethbridge is advising residents of some work being done this spring.

Starting Thursday, May 25, 2023, crews will be removing the sandbox next to the playground at William Pearce Park in Riverstone. A 3D rubber reptile play feature will be installed in its place. The work is expected to be done by the end of next week, weather permitting.

At Willow Brook Park near Mike Mountain Horse School, crews will be repairing a 2D pattern in the rubber surfacing beginning Monday, May 29. Officials note that there may be a slight impact to park users as the swings and work area will be fenced off. The main play structure will stay open, and the work is anticipated to be finished by the end of next week, weather permitting.

Additionally, starting Monday, May 29, the playground at Henderson Park will be closed to repair the rubber surfacing. The playground will be fenced off and unavailable during the duration of the repair. This project is expected to be completed June 5, weather permitting.

More on the parks and playgrounds in the region is available at the City of Lethbridge website.
