Charges laid following north Lethbridge standoff

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Police have laid charges following a standoff in north Lethbridge.

On Tuesday, June 6, 2023, the Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) said officers were responding to what was described as a critical incident at a home along the 1900 block of 13 Street North.

Police stated that a man with outstanding warrants for his arrest had barricaded himself inside a residence and refused to leave.

Members of the Critical Incident Team were deployed to the scene, and the LPS said further attempts to negotiate with the suspect were unsuccessful. Police used a chemical agent, which resulted in the suspect exiting the home and being taken safely into custody.

Logan Conrad Richard Drake, 31, of Lethbridge, is charged with failing to comply with release conditions and resisting a peace officer. Police said Drake is in custody awaiting a Judicial Interim Release hearing.
