Nothing suspicious found following bomb threat at Nanton school

NANTON, AB – The Nanton RCMP said no one was in imminent danger following a bomb threat at a local school.

At approximately 10:18 a.m. on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, officers were called to J.T. Foster High School in Nanton.

The school was evacuated while officers conducted a complete search of the facility. The RCMP said nothing suspicious was found.

Students remained under evacuation for the remainder of the day on Wednesday and returned to class the following day.

According to the RCMP, “[The] investigation revealed there was no imminent threat and the phone number was associated to someone in Edmonton.”

Nanton RCMP, with assistance from the Edmonton Police Service, is continuing to investigate.
