LETHBRIDGE, AB – It’s set to be another hot week in Lethbridge, and there’s a ton of events to keep you busy over the next few days.

Mid-day Pop-Up Pride Yoga – June 14

As part of Pride Month, Shonna Lamb will host a gentle mid-day yoga practice in Festival Square on Wednesday, June 14, 2023. The class is curated to be accessible to all bodies and to all abilities of students, and no special yoga clothes or experience is needed. No pre-registration is required, but donations of $10 are encouraged, which will go directly to the Lethbridge Pride Fest Society. The class will run from 12:10 p.m. – 12:50 p.m. outside, but if the weather is unfavorable, the class will move to the Casa Dance Studio indoors.

Pro-Amateur Comedy Night (Open Mic Comedy) at Good Times Lethbridge Comedy Club – June 14

On Wednesday, June 14, the Good Times Lethbridge Comedy Club will host its Pro-Amateur Night. Professional comics will test out new material, and newer performers can try their hand at stand-up comedy. Those looking to sign up for a guest spot, or grab tickets to the show, can do so online at the Good Times Lethbridge Comedy Club website.

Tyson Ray Borsboom at Bourbon & Butter – June 15

This week, Burbon & Butter will show off their brand-new upstairs cocktail space with a little live music. On Thursday, from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., they welcome Canadian singer/ songwriter, Tyson Ray Borsboom to perform. Tickets for the show are by donation.

Nikka Yuko Food Truck Friday – Every Friday

The Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden hosts Food Truck Friday every Friday from May 26 to September 29. Several food truck vendors will be parked outside Nikka Yuko, including Santeria Taco Truck, Ma n Pa’s BBQ, That Hawaiian Burger Truck, Mama Lo’s, Vesano Pizza, Jerry’s Pop Shop, and much more. The trucks will be open from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Fridays.

Pure Power Wrestling Danger Zone at the Fritz Sick Centre – June 17

Pure Power Wrestling (PPW) returns to Lethbridge this weekend for another wrestling event. On Saturday, the Danger Zone will welcome PPW Heavyweight Champion Kyle Sebastian and “Type Eh” Michael May to the Fritz Sick Centre. Advanced tickets for the event can be purchased at King of Trade, Round Table Board Gamerie, Meadow Lane or at 6:30 p.m. at the door.

‘A Father’s Day Finale in the Key of F’ – June 17

The Lethbridge Community Band Society (LCBS) announced that their final concert of the 2022-2023 season will take place on June 17, 2023. The show, titled ‘A Father’s Day Finale in the Key of F’ will be held at the College Drive Community Church, 2710 College Drive S. The community reception starts at 5:30 p.m. with the musical program following at 7:00 p.m., with tickets available for purchase online.

Lethbridge Farmers’ Market at Lethbridge & District Exhibition – Every Saturday

Head on over to Lethbridge & District Exhibition this weekend to check out the region’s best produce, baked goods, homemade crafts and more. The Lethbridge Farmers Market is free to attend and runs every Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. from June 10 to October 14, 2023. Last year, it’s estimated that nearly 57,000 people attended the market on the exhibition grounds.

Trans March at Galt Gardens – June 18

Lethbridge Pride Fest is kicking off Pride Week with the Trans March on Sunday, June 18. Participants are encouraged to dress up in pride gear, meet in Galt Gardens prior to noon and march to Lethbridge City Hall. Pride Fest encourages people to exercise responsible allyship and recognize that the voices of the trans community take precedence in the space.

Filipino Heritage Festival – June 18

The Filipino Canadian Association Lethbridge Alberta (FCALA ) is set to host the Filipino Heritage Festival from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Sunday at Henderson Park. The free event will feature specialty food, guest speakers, and live entertainment. More information can be found on the Filipino Heritage Festival Facebook page.

Yoga and Tai Chi at Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden – Every Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday

The Canadian Yoga Institue has begun its Tai Chi and Yoga classes at Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden this month. Flow Yoga will take place every Wednesday starting at 6:00 p.m., while Yoga for Wellness will start at 5:30 p.m. every Thursday. Beginning at 9:00 a.m. every Saturday, people can take part in short-form Yang Style Tai Chi. Drop-in passes can be purchased on the day of the event, or you can register through the Canadian Yoga Institue. More information can be found online.

Alberta Genealogical Society – Every Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday

The Lethbridge branch of the Alberta Genealogical Society opens its resource centre to the public from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. every Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. The community is encouraged to learn more about their history and try to trace their family trees. Check it out at 128 – 909 3 Avenue North in Lethbridge and learn more on the Lethbridge & District Branch Alberta Genealogical Society website.
