LETHBRIDGE, AB – The Lethbridge Hurricanes have signed another one of their 2023 Western Hockey League (WHL) Prospects Draft selections.

The team has signed 2008-born forward Gavin Lesiuk to a WHL Scholarship and Development Agreement. The 15-year-old was chosen 36th overall in the second round of the 2023 draft.

Originally from Duncan, B.C., Lesiuk appeared in 22 regular season games with the Okanagan Hockey Academy (OHA) U15 Prep team in 2022-2023. He scored 10 goals and dished out 14 assists, and collected 52 penalty minutes, finishing ninth in team scoring last season.

At the John Reid U15 tournament with OHA last year, he totaled five points (two goals, three assists).

Lesiuk was teammates with fellow Lethbridge Hurricanes prospect Will Scott with OHA last season, while spending the previous season as a teammate of Hurricanes goaltender Keon Cleaver at the Pacific Coast Hockey Academy. Lesiuk joins fellow second-round picks Chase Petersen and Will Scott in signing with the Lethbridge WHL team.
