New equipment coming to three playgrounds in Lethbridge

LETHBRIDGE, AB – Three neighbourhood playgrounds in Lethbridge are set to be upgraded this summer.

The City of Lethbridge said the playgrounds will be getting new equipment.

The projects include:

  • Tot Lot, located at the corner of 29 Street and 11 Avenue South. The playground area will be fenced off for construction, beginning Wednesday, June 14, 2023. The project is anticipated to take about two weeks to complete, weather permitting.
  • Squamish Park, located at 6 Squamish Court West. The playground replacement is expected to begin on July 17. However, this date may be subject to change. The playground will be closed during the construction process.
  • Kinsmen Park, located at 1009 9 Avenue South. The replacement project is set to start on August 7. This date may be subject to change. During construction, the playground will be closed.

Officials noted that the Tot Lot is funded by the Playground Lifecycle program. Kinsmen and Squamish playgrounds are funded by the Playground Lifecycle program and the Accessible Playgrounds program.
