Investigation continues into sudden death in west Lethbridge

LETHBRIDGE, AB – An investigation continues into a sudden death on the west side of Lethbridge.

At around 12:30 p.m. on Friday, July 14, 2023, the Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) said officers responded to a report that workers from a restoration company had found a body inside a storage shed at the McDonalds restaurant along the 500 block of University Drive.

Police note the shed had previously been damaged in a fire on July 3, and workers had attended to provide remediation services.

The LPS said the body has been taken to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Calgary for an autopsy to determine the individual’s identity and a cause of death.

The circumstances of the individual’s death remain under investigation. Police said no further information will be released until the autopsy is completed.
