Southern Alberta man charged with child pornography offences

BASSANO, AB – Charges relating to child pornography have been laid.
On Thursday, July 20, 2023, the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team’s Child Exploitation Unit, along with Bassano RCMP, executed a search warrant at a home in Bassano.
During the search, the RCMP said a number of electronic devices, including a desktop computer, were seized.
Merle Gaffney, 66, of Bassano, faces one count each of accessing and possessing child pornography.
