Teens charged in connection to fight involving weapons in Coalhurst
COALHURST, AB – The RCMP has laid charges against two minors who were reportedly involved in a pre-planned fight that involved the use of weapons.
At approximately 5:15 p.m. on Friday, July 14, 2023, officers received multiple reports that two groups of people were fighting at the spray park in Coalhurst.
According to the RCMP, one group included a 16-year-old boy armed with a baseball bat and a 14-year-old boy who had a knife. The second group included a 17-year-old girl and a 19-year-old man, neither of whom had weapons.
“Investigation revealed that both groups initially agreed to meet at the spray park for a consensual fight,” reads a media release from the RCMP. “A witness saw the interaction and left his yard to intervene. He took the baseball bat away from one male, who then punched the witness several times in the head.”
