LETHBRIDGE, AB – Crews with the City of Lethbridge were kept busy dealing with a number of downed electric utility poles in late July.

Officials said staff with the electric utility office responded to an area just south of the Sunridge neighbourhood on the west side on Sunday, July 30, 2023.

Strong wind gusts reportedly knocked the poles down, but the City of Lethbridge was not able to say how many were impacted.

β€œCrews worked into the night & had power restored within [nine] hours,” the City of Lethbridge said in a tweet. Officials were unable to provide any further details as of this publication.

(Correction: An earlier version of this story noted the power lines were knocked down on Tuesday, August 15, 2023. The City of Lethbridge has confirmed that this incident actually occurred on Sunday, July 30.)
