Trial dates set in $1 million Lethbridge drug bust

LETHBRIDGE, AB – A man accused in one of the largest drug busts in the history of Lethbridge will stand trial early next year.

In Lethbridge Provincial Court on Thursday, August 24, 2023, a two-day trial was set for Patrick Rodney, 34, of Lethbridge.

It is scheduled to take place on January 11 and 12, 2024.

The Lethbridge Police Service (LPS) and Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team (ALERT) say they seized more than $1 million worth of drugs on December 20, 2022, from two homes and two vehicles in the city.

The drugs reportedly included 5.2 kilograms of methamphetamine, 3.2 kilograms of cocaine, 1.6 kilograms of fentanyl powder, 418 grams of ketamine, and 35 grams of psilocybin mushrooms.

Officers also claim to have confiscated $79,000 in cash and four firearms.

Rodney faces a total of 20 charges.
