Lethbridge Hurricanes home opener – September 22, 2023

The Lethbridge Hurricanes kick off their 2023-24 season on Friday with a 7 p.m. game against the Swift Current Broncos at the ENMAX Centre. The ‘Canes come into the season having made the playoffs every year since 2016. Tickets can be purchased here, at the arena or at Dairy Queen locations with a purchase of any two burgers, fries and soft drink meals.

A Taste of Mexico – September 22, 2023

The Southern Alberta Ethnic Association is hosting ‘A Taste of Mexico’, a celebration of Mexican culture, on Friday. The Multicultural Centre will host a dinner starting at 6:30 p.m., and there will be cocktails, music and dancing. Tickets can be purchase here.

Lethbridge Farmers’ Market – September 23, 2023

The Lethbridge Farmers’ Market runs every Saturday until October 14, 2023 at Lethbridge & District Exhibition. Shop local vendors and stock up on produce, baked goods and other fun items. The Saturday market is from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., with free parking and admission.

Ride for Refuge Charity Bike Ride – September 23, 2023

Streets Alive Mission is set to host its first Ride for Refuge event in Lethbridge at Henderson Lake Park. The initiative aims to help raise funds and awareness for local charities. Participants can either bike a 10-kilometre route (two loops around Henderson Lake Park) or a 20-kilometre path (four loops around) at the event on Saturday. Attendees are welcomed to walk the path as well.

Lethbridge OnScreen Film Festival 2023 – September 23, 2023

The Galt Museum and Archives is presenting the Lethbridge OnScreen Film Festival on Saturday at the Movie Mill. The film selections span all genres with something for every taste and age range. Cast and crew members will be present and there will be spotlights on emerging and local artists. Details can be found at the Galt Museum and Archives website.

Word on the Street Festival – September 23, 2023

The 2023 Word on the Street Festival is Saturday at the Lethbridge Public Library Main Branch in the downtown of the city. The festival is now in its’ tenth year, and features readings, music and other activities. A full schedule of events can be found at the Word on the Street website.

Wild Time Music Festival – September 23, 2023

The Wild Time Music Festival is returning to Lethbridge for 2023 this weekend. The EDM (electronic dance music) festival runs at the ENMAX Centre from 6 p.m. until midnight on Saturday. It will feature artists like DJ Talon , DJ C-sik and Sky millz. Tickets can be purchased here.

Try Guiding with Girl Guides of Canada – September 23, 2023

The Girl Guides of Canada hosts a Try Guiding event on Saturday. It will take place at the Rose Garden at Henderson Lake.

Oktoberfest Fundraiser in Milk River – September 23, 2023

The Milk River & District Ag Society hosts its Oktoberfest fundraiser on Saturday. Activities will start at 1 p.m. at the Milk River Civic Centre. There will be a full concession, games for the kids, a silent auction and 50/50 draw, beer gardens and more.

Lethbridge 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb – September 24, 2023

At 10 a.m. on Sunday, the Lethbridge Firefighters Charities Association is holding its 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb. Participants will climb the stairs at the Melcor Centre multiple times for a total of 110 stories, the height of the World Trade Centre as it stood. Those that do not wish to participate but would still like to donate can do so here.

Pop-Up Wedding Dress Sale – September 24, 2023

Those shopping for their upcoming big day rejoice, as the one-day Pop-Up Wedding Dress sale is happening on Sunday at the Sandman Hotel on Mayor Magrath Drive in Lethbridge. The event is scheduled to run from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Try Speed Skating – September 24, 2023

The Lethbridge Speed Skating Association is hosting a ‘Try Speed Skating’ event at Cavendish Farms Centre on Sunday from 3:15 to 5:30 p.m. It will be hosted by former Olympic speed skater Marsha Hudey, and is open for those five-years-old and older. Participants are urged to bring their own equipment, as there are limited quantities at the event.
